Hello,
Well, I thought I would tell you more about myself.
I was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and came here at the age of 8.
Now I'm 16 :D my experience in the USA so far has been a rewarding one,
I have met a lot of friends, learned about a new culture, and I now know TWO
languages! YAY!
Anyway, I work at my local library and I coach gymnastics at a gym half an hour
from here. I got my library job last August and gymnastics about a month ago.
What can I say about working at a library? It is very interesting and you get to meet
a whole lot of cool people. ...but then comes the book shelving part *cue dramatic music*
where the children's section is HELL O_O'..lol, imagine spending 2 hours straight on
walking around a library and putting books away, half of the time in the puny kids section.
Now imagine coming back 20 minutes later and finding HALF of the books on the floor, all mixed
up. This is what I put up with almost every day of my existence here.
Coaching Gymnastics is a different matter. Not only is it a good exercise, it is also a shit load
of fun! ^_^ (pardon my "French") All of the "teachers" (my age through 22) get to fool around
on the gymnastics equipment after hours...and get hurt like I did yesterday.
What basically happened was that I was doing a back tuck (backflip) off of a springboard onto
the pit..but I didn't jump high enough and fell sideways, almost shattering my hip bone O_O
WOW did it hurt this morning XD
OK, back to recent events. My library boss, a totally awesome dude with a sense of humor (I
remember laughing with him at funny videos while we were supposed to be working), left the
library after 8 years. He had to go live with his aging dad, somewhere 2 hours away. So for the
next two weeks I, the 16-year-old, and another lady have the library to look after by ourselves
o.o wish me luck!
Tonight I'm finally going to watch The Grudge Two, I kept ordering it from the other libraries
but it only came on Thursday, after 4 months of waiting. At the library, we have a whole system
set up which connects all of the public libraries in Allegheny County together. We also have our
own exclusive mailing system :D so when you return a book to a different library it still counts
as returning it to the owner library because it will be sent back. And anytime I want to watch a
movie or find a book, I can take a look in the computer system if any library in the whole
county has the material and have it within 2-3 days 8D sounds fun, I know...but the dreaded
children's section is my price to pay, I guess.
Tomorrow I'm going to go to Franklin to visit my girlfriend :D she lives about an hour and a half
away from me, and I only get to see her once a week at best..but hopefully I get a car soon and
will be able to go there a lot more often. The only thing that bothers me is that all of her (I'm not
sure if I should be telling you her name yet..it could be embarrassing for her) friends don't like
me. And the reason for that was because in January, I went on a couple of dates with her one of
them. The relationship didn't work out, and some time later I met my now girlfriend. =) We
have been dating for over 6 months now and we're hoping to one day get married, maybe.
As I was saying, for the reason I just explained most of her friends don't even know that we've
been together for a while now. But hopefully, they will accept me when we tell them about us
sometime in August-September. Anyway, so tomorrow is going to be so much fun! I can't wait
to see Lizzie again...especially because I won't get to see her again for about another month =/
Both of our families will be going on a two weekend vacation.
I wish all of my readers lusk in everything, and thanks for reading! :D
Have a nice day,
Rustic B.
